As Lewis and Clark adventured  into the Rocky Mountains people thought they would see                    unicorns, giant woolly mammoths, Peruvian llamas, seven-foot-tall beavers, and friendly, slim-waisted buffalo. They also thought California was an island.

But the expedition didn't see these things for they never existed in the west of North America and the scientists in 1809 were wrong. For more info click the links below.
