Dill is an herb, and is used in herbal butters, vinegars and it flavors meat, cheese, creams, poultry, fish, salads, soups, spreads and much more. It is also medical, and decorative. Dill is an annual plant. It grows in July & September. It grows with a long hollow stalk that grows up to 36 inches in height and 24 inches in width. Dill has a tap root like a carrot, has yellow flowers and blue-green feather-like leaves. You would have to grow it in rich, well drained soil with a pH of 6. Dill weed is a member of the parsley family, and is native to the eastern Mediterranean region and western Asia. |
