Thomas Newcomen

Thomas Newcomen(1663-1729) helped Thomas Savery invent the atmospheric stream engine. Thomas Newcomen was an English Blacksmith. The Newcomen engine was successful, and made his efficient engine after ten years of experiments.

  The Atmospheric steam engine was the most interesting piece during the 1700s. Thomas Newcomen was a famous engineer from Dartmouth. He built a stream engine to pump water from the Cornish tin mines. His engines were also used in the 18th century to increase the supply of drinking water.
