The light bulb was invented in 1879. The light bulb was invented by Thomas Alva Edison in America. What does it do? A light bulb is a glass ball that inside has a small wire that when too much electric current flows through it that it heats up and glows which is the light that comes from the light bulb. Before the light bulb was invented people used daylight and candles for light. Without the light bulb I think people would panic and be lost in the dark. If we didn't have the light bulb people wouldn't be able to put extra work in the day. We wouldn't be able to read books at night
