Some people move to escape dangerous situations like slavery. Harriett Tubman helped people do this. Harriet Tubman was one of the most well known women in African American history. She took nineteen total trips into the South and led over 300 slaves to the North and freedom. She proudly told Fredrick Douglass that in all of her journeys she "never lost a single passenger."
