FAFSA submissions nights!! February 21, 23, and 29, 2012 @ Kishwaukee College's conference center (Room A-225) FROM 6-8 PM (ALLOW 45 MINS. TO COMPLETE). Get questions answered & receive personal assistance with ON-SITE electronic submission of your FAFSA form. Computer lab available or bring your own laptop. You WILL need to bring the following information in order to complete the application: Federal Student Aid PIN (If parent information is being submitted on the FAFSA application, parents will have to have his/her own PIN. If you need to get a PIN, go to www.pin.ed.gov. Parents should already have a PIN if older children applied for financial aid, so plan to bring it. Students also need to get a PIN number to access FAFSA information and check on the status later); Social Security Numbers (for BOTH PARENTS & STUDENTS, if providing parent information); Student's driver's license number (if you have one); Student & Parent Alien Registration Numbers (if not a US Citizen); Federal tax information or tax returns (including W-2 information, for student, parents, using income records for 2011, or the year prior to the academic year for which applying); Records of untaxed income (such as social security benefits, temporary assistance for needy families (TANF), and veterans benefits, for students and parents. Also report of information on savings, investments, and business and farm assets for student & parents); Estimated tax information from 2010 tax return (If you have NOT completed your 2011 tax return it is acceptable to submit estimated tax information from your 2010 tax return. You will need to revise your FAFSA application after 2011 tax return is completed) WANT TO REVIEW A FAFSA WORKSHEET, GO ON-LINE TO www.fafsa.gov AND PRINT ONE!


 

ATTENTION SENIORS Kishwaukee College has over $200,000.00 to hand out this year in scholarships. If you plan to go the Kish in the fall, please take a look at their scholarship handbook. Go to www.kishwaukeecollege.edu. We also have a handbook in the guidance office that you can look at.

JUNIOR CLASS FUNDRAISER @ Buffalo Wild Wings on Wed. Feb. 8th from 11 am - 11 pm at their Sycamore location. If you visit Buffalo Wild Wings between the hours of 11 am and 11 pm on this date, 10% of the proceeds of your meal will go toward helping us raise money for prom. You MUST give your server a voucher so they know you're a part of the fundraiser. These can be picked up in the learning center. Please see Ms. Wilkins or Mrs. Golembiewski if you have any questions.


 

ATTENTION SENIORS It is that time of year again and you will need letters of recomendations and transcripts. Please allow plenty of time for us to prepare these items for you. Letters of recomendations need at least a weeks time and transcripts a day or two. Thank you.


 

ATTENTION SENIORS The Sons of Confederate Veterans Scholarship is available in the guidence office, it is due 3/15/2012.

ATTENTION FEMALE SENIORS The G-K Girls Softball Scholarship is available in the guidance office and is due May 1, 2012


 

ATTENTION SENIORS The Fox Valley Branch of the American Public Works Association is announcing their 2012 Scholarship program. This program is available for students who are entering into civil engineering, environmental engineering, traffic engineering, construction management, or other fields or programs within the public works field. This scholarship is available in the guidance office.


 

ATTENTION SENIORS The Local Scholarship is now available in the guidance office. The due date is April 15, 2012.


 

MUGS & HUGS is back!!! Mug sales will be Friday, March 9th from 4 - 7 pm. in the learning center. Each mug is handmade by your very own GK ART STUDENTS and each mug sells for $5 each. Half of the proceeds will be donated to Hope Haven Homeless Shelter and half to the GK Art Department. Snacks will be provided for your shopping enjoyment!

COMPUTER CLUB LAN PARTY!! Sat. Feb. 18th from 3-11 pm. Entry fee is $5 which will be waived for computer club members if dues are paid in full.
