Week of January 18, 2021
Upcoming Dates:
- January 25 & 26 – First COGS store
- January 28th – 2nd Quarter Report Cards will be sent home.
- February 11 – regular AM and PM classes, with conferences from 3:00 – 8:00
- February 11 – Valentine’s activities
- February 12 – NO KINDERGARTEN classes to continue conferences
- February 19 – 100 days of school for kindergarten
- Please read with your child nightly.
Welcome Back:
We are so excited to be back face to face with our kiddos! Please make sure your child has snow boots, snow pants, a heavy coat, a hat, and gloves each day to play in the snow. Otherwise, students will have to play on the blacktop. Kingston students will go out for recess if it is 0 degrees or above (real feel-wind chill). Lastly, please send an extra pair of socks in case their socks get wet and a pair of rubber-soled shoes for your child to wear at school. If you have an extra pair, it is easiest for student to leave them at school in their lockers.

Math:
We continue to practice, learn, and understand subtraction. Give some objects such as pennies to your child. Ask your child to count 4 pennies and then take 3 away. Next, have them write the equation. Use 4 new pennies and repeat with 4-2, 4-1, and 4-0. Write the equations each time. Ask your child about the pattern that they see.
