First Grade Newsletter
Week of October 14, 2019
Literacy
We will continue to identify elements of informational texts. Readers will also compare and contrast non-fiction texts to determine similarities and differences. As you read with your first grader, use details from the pictures and words to determine the main idea!
Please remember the reading homework is 15 minutes of reading five days a week.
Phonics
This week, we will review all previous letters and sounds.
Phonics Words to Practice
We will review all previous Phonics words!
Tricky Words of the Week
We will review all previous sight words.
Math
In Topic 3 this week, we will continue to apply strategies for solving addition facts to 20.
Thank you for remembering that math homework attached to the newsletter is due the Friday of that week. Please make sure your child’s name is on it when you turn it in.
