cold weather information

As we move into the colder months, we want to address the impacts of inclement weather. The safety and well-being of our students and staff remain the highest priority, and we are dedicated to maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment, no matter the weather. While we can’t control the elements, we can take proactive steps to reduce disruptions and help ensure learning continues as smoothly as possible.

Please keep the following key points in mind:

  1. School Closure or Two Hour Delay: In the event of severe weather conditions such as heavy snowfall, icy roads, or extreme cold, we may need to make the decision to close or delay school. Decisions are generally reached and announced by 6:00 AM. However, there are times that decisions must be made later.

  2. Stay Informed: Keep an eye on our school's website, social media channels, email, phone and text messages for the latest updates on inclement weather decisions and other important announcements. Please make sure your information is up to date in Skyward

  3. Recess:

Above 32° F with or without wind chill: Recess should be held outdoors.

Between 31° F and 1° F with wind chill: Principal discretion.

At or Below 0° F with wind chill: Recess should be held indoors.
