Week of September 20, 2021
Literacy
This week we will begin our Ready Gen reading program which is focused on students understanding information as we read the text rogeter as a class. Our first book will be Stellaluna.
Phonics
This week we will review and apply the sounds we have covered so far this quarter. This week we will practice reading and spelling with these sounds:
Focus: r, w, j, k, e
Review: m, s, t, c/k, p, n, short a: f, b, g, short i, d,l,ll,h, short o
Tricky Words of the Week
Each quarter we will focus on 25 fry words. Students will practice reading and writing these words. Mastering these words helps students become more fluent in their reading.
This week we will review the words we have covered so far.
Focus: at, be, this, have, from
Review: the, of, and, a, to,in, is, you, that, it, he, was, for on, are, as, with, his, they, I
Math
We will begin topic 2 which is addition and subtraction facts to 10. Our focus math fact this week is +4.
Important Information
-Our school hours are 8:00-2:50 each day.
-Only breakfast and lunch are provided free of charge by the school.
-Please send two snacks to school with your student each day.
-Please send your child to school with a spill proof water bottle each day.
-Please send your student to school with a light jacket or sweatshirt each day.
- Please continue to check Seesaw throughout the week for messages.
-If your child is sick or there is a change of transportation, you must call the office
to notify them.
-Please have your student return the homework attached to this newsletter by next Monday. Please make sure they have their name on it.
-This week is spirit week. A note went home last week with a list of spirit days.
