First Grade Newsletter
Week of March 14, 2022
In ReadyGen we continue to focus on characters, setting, and retelling. Students are learning to recall information in a nonfiction text. Students are earning the difference between fiction and non-fiction reading material. Vocabulary and parts of speech (nouns, proper nouns, and verbs) are essential parts of our lessons. Syllables, punctuation, contractions, ABC order and compound words are points of focus in our grammar lessons.
Tricky Words of the Week
Remember to have your student continue to practice the first 50 tricky words. Students who can read these words already are focusing on spelling these words correctly in their daily writing.
We will begin topic 10, double digit addition. The focus fact this week is subtraction and addition to 20.
Have your student return the attached homework by the first day of school next week.
Please send your student with outerwear for outdoor play.
Continue to send a spill proof water bottle and two snacks to school with your student.
Please continue to check Seesaw throughout the week for messages.
