Inclement Weather

The Superintendent works with our administrative team to determine inclement weather and if school will be canceled, an E-Learning Day or a two hour late start. Decisions are generally reached and announced by 6:00 AM. However, there are times that decisions must be made later. With the use of the School Messenger system to give closing information it is imperative that the district has accurate contact information for parents and guardians. Parents will ONLY receive notice if schools are starting late, dismissing early, closed, or if an E-Learning Day will be utilized. Otherwise the day will proceed as usual.

The District generally uses NOAA.com to determine weather related decisions.

Recess Guidelines

Outdoor recess allows children to get fresh air, provides an opportunity for children to engage in moderate to vigorous physical activity, and gives students more activity options than most indoor spaces. Outdoor recess is  an important part of a child’s school day and schools are highly encouraged to provide students with a total of 30 minutes of unstructured play outside whenever possible. These guidelines will assist in determining whether to hold recess indoors or outdoors each day. As parents, please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather.
