View information on any of the Scholarships to see if you qualify and what you need to do to complete your applications. Checking this page weekly will ensure you are current. Most LOCAL scholarships are posted second semester each year. Remember! You can apply to scholarships on this site, but you should also look to see what scholarships your school of choice offers.

Scholarships are ordered by Deadline Dates to help keep you on track.

SCHOLARSHIPS

2024-2025 A. FRANKLIN PILCHARD APPLICATION

Attached is the AFPF Scholarship Application packet for this year’s seniors. The Board of Directors looks forward to receiving and reviewing many applications from GKHS.

The application is a fillable form clicking on the link, or printed from the attachment. No matter how the application is completed, it can be emailed, mailed or faxed. Students should not try to edit the form; rather they should complete it “as is.”

Recommendations and transcripts should be emailed directly to the email below from school personnel. EMAILED TO: admin@afpilchardfoundation.org

Please note that the students are required to submit their application no later than November 15, 2024. For the application to be considered the entire application must be completed and all required documents (recommendation(s), transcript, tax returns) must be received by the due date.

THE GOLDEN APPLE SCHOLARS APPLICATION IS AVAILABLE!

We're on a mission to prepare the next generation of great teachers for Illinois schools, and we need your help! Can you let your students interested in becoming teachers know that the Golden Apple Scholars Program in Illinois is now accepting applications for the Class of 2025?

To assist you, we've prepared a concise one-pager, a social media graphic, and a sample message.

What Golden Apple Scholars Receive:

Up to $23,000 in financial assistance for college, inclusive of paid professional development
Extensive classroom teaching experience
Instruction from award-winning educators and expert partners
Academic and social-emotional support
Job placement assistance
Mentoring in first years of teaching

Eligibility Criteria:

Students attending Illinois schools who are high school seniors, college freshmen/sophomores and community college students
Illinois resident, U.S. citizens, eligible non-citizens, or Illinois Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) students

Note: Standardized test scores are optional this year and not required for acceptance.
