Dear GKMS Families,

Next week, students are encouraged to participate in our Holiday Spirit Theme Week.  On Monday, students can bring their pet or favorite stuffed animal to share at the beginning of 1st period.  The staff is looking forward to seeing what the students share.

The students have been working very hard and are doing a great job as we work remotely during this Adaptive Pause.  Please continue to look at your student’s grades regularly (I recommend any day of the week your family can commit to) and discuss how school is going for them.  If they, or you, have any questions or concerns please reach out to your student’s teacher.  We all need a reminder to continue to check on the people in our lives to see how they are doing and let them know that we are here for them.

Normally at this time we would have a date on the calendar for the 8th Grade Promotion.  Due to the current situation, we are waiting on further guidance from the IDPH and the ROE before committing to a date or any alteration as to how we will recognize the accomplishments of our 8th grade students.  I will keep you updated as we get more information.

As always, please email me with any questions you have at or call me at 815-784-5222.
