GKHS Chess club is starting Thursday, October 2nd during club time in Mr. O'Donnell's class room. Chess club is open to all levels of players from those wishing to learn the rules to those that have them mastered.

GKHS hosted students from DeKalb High School yesterday as they shadowed our Student Advisory Committee members through classes, lunch, and more—getting a first-hand look at what makes our school culture unique. This Friday, GK students will visit DeKalb to experience what a day is like as a Barb. This exchange is all about learning from one another, celebrating our strengths, and finding new ways to grow together.

The annual Excellence in Education Awards honor exceptional teachers, administrators, and support staff in DeKalb County. Community nominations are now open! Nominations submitted through the Community Foundation will be shared with the Regional Office of Education and included in each school’s award process. Homecoming Week - Day 4 Yesterday GKHS celebrated class color day and our staff dressed up as Disney villians!!
Attention students: For class color day on Thursday, Sept. 25, students should wear their class Homecoming T-shirt to school that day OR wear a color shirt that goes with their class color. Seniors - black, juniors - white, sophomores - orange and freshmen - blue.
Students will only be allowed in the class photo if they are wearing the correct color shirt. Photos will be taken during the first half of second hour on Thursday in the gym. Students will be dismissed by class with an announcement from the main office. Students will be asked to promptly return to their classes immediately following the photo.

The impact club is looking for donations of baked goods for a bake sale at this Friday's football game. Donations can be dropped off at the high school office or the GKHS library starting Thursday, 9/25, or brought right to the table near concessions on the night of the game.

The GKHS and GKMS Community Impact Clubs are collecting new and gently used Halloween costumes. All Donations can be brought into the middle/high school front office or the Genoa Public Library by Wednesday, November 5.
In collaboration with Rooted For Good - Genoa, the Impact Clubs will be hosting a Halloween Costume Distribution on Monday, October 6, 2025 from 3:00-5:00 PM at Rooted For Good - Genoa.

Coffee delivery on the go! 🚗☕ Our High School Coffee Club, The GK Wake Up, traveled to the middle school yesterday to serve up coffee and smiles to the staff. We love the energy they bring wherever they go, throughout the school year they will be stopping at all the buildings!
