Representatives from KEC will be presenting to families about the programs/classes they offer. These courses get students started on a career or technical pathway. After completion of a two-year Associate in Applied Science degree, many of these students will be ready to enter the workforce with an industry credential in their field. Seniors! Guidance is offering additional FAFSA support separate from the FAFSA workshop on November 6. During lunch hours this Thursday (Oct. 30) our ISAC rep. will be offering FAFSA assistance. Please make sure you have necessary documents, like your social security number. Parents are welcome to attend.

Esports Gamers — It’s time to lock in! The GKHS Esports Club now meets every Thursday from 2:30–3:30 PM, starting this week. Snacks will be provided, and if you bring a new member, you get double!
In-school gaming tournaments and competitions begin in two weeks, so start your training this Thursday. No need to bring your own computer — we’ve got everything you need. Just show up and play!

NHS student hosting winter clothing drive - donate gently used coats, boots, snow pants and hats now until November 1. Donation boxes are located at the Genoa Library, and all school buildings.
Distribution days will be held in the GKHS commons on November 8 and 15 from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM.

Construction Trades Events - We have two events coming up this month for students who are interested in pursuing a career in the trades after graduation.
*Trades Exploration Day will be October 22 from 3:30-6:00 pm at DeKalb High School. Students and parents are invited to attend to learn about career pathways, apprenticeship programs, and technical school programs, as well as to meet with experts in the field.
*GK's Construction Trades Field Trip will take place October 23 from 8:00-11:00 am. Students will visit the Sycamore shop of KEC Construction Trades instructor, Fred Davis. Priority is given to Seniors who are considering a career in the trades after graduation, but interested Juniors can also sign up and will be invited if extra seats are available. Sign up and get your permission form from Mrs. Miranda in the Guidance Office.
