3/1/24: AM- Happy March 1st! It is the first day of a new month, which means we have a new PBIS trait. The PBIS trait of the month is honesty. There are so many important reasons to be honest, but it all starts with being honest with yourself. Continue to earn those PBIS points for being respectful, responsible, and safe as well as being honest this month. Teachers will be on the lookout!

2/26/24 AM-Beau Spence, Anthony Swenson, Eli Williams, and Vito Townsend all brought home 3rd place finishes and move on to sectionals. Joining them are Jacob Rutkowski, Cameron Butterfield, and Kaden Sosnowski who placed 2nd. In addition, Hunter Wendt, Jacob Brewick, and EJ Kennedy took first as regional champions. Overall the GK team placed 2nd at regionals. Wish the wrestlers good luck as they embark to sectionals next weekend looking to punch their ticket to state* 6th graders, remember the Silent Start Booster! You are off to a strong start! Remember to be in your seat with your class materials ready and silent when the bell rings. This is a great way to start every class. We know you can do this! 2/23/24 Morning Announcements - In order to show our trait of the month, acceptance, you must also be able to show empathy. Empathy is the ability to be aware of the feelings of others and imagine what it might be like to be in their position (or in their shoes). Empathy is a key ingredient in positive friendships and relationships. If you can practice empathy towards others, acceptance will follow. Wednesday, February, 21st-GK wrestlers competed in their conference tournament last night. In the JV brackets we had two 1st places from Matt Nevarez and Eli Williams. In the varsity brackets we had Ethan Sharif taking 4th. Trevor Gilbert and Jacob Rutkowski taking Third. Hunter Wendt and Andrew Rocha taking 2nd. And Jacob Brewick came home with a new shiny first place medal as conference champ.

Wednesday February, 21st-Only a few more weeks left to enter the PBIS raffle for a chance to have a pizza delivered to you at lunch or win the Ryne Sandberg autographed card in the front display case. It’s only 5 points and you can enter as many times as you choose!-After school today and tomorrow there is a special Art Club meeting for building drama props in Mrs. Hulsebergs room from 3:00-4:30.-Starting today the 6th grade is doing a Silent Start Booster through March 7th. When the bell rings make sure you are in your seat, ready to learn, and silent! We know you can do this!

Next Tuesday, February 20, the 7th/8th Grade Band will be performing along with the high school band at Genoa-Kingston High School in the auditorium. The doors open at 7pm for this free event. Come on out and enjoy the performance.
