We are thrilled to share that Genoa-Kingston CUSD #424's Transportation Office has received a stellar report from the Illinois Department of Transportation!
Every 6 months, buses must be safety lane tested, a process conducted by IDOT that includes the state agency inspecting all of the buses with a fine-tooth comb, similar to grading for a report card.
The state will visit different districts to make sure buses are all checked out and operating within safety compliance. Our last visit was 2 years ago, and it is a surprise when they randomly come.
If they see anything wrong, they will red tag the bus, and it cannot be used until fixed. IDOT reported that our fleet was impeccable and that everything looked great!
