Genoa-Kingston High School Homecoming Week
The Genoa-Kingston High School will be celebrating their Haunted Homecoming October 10-14. We invite the community and alumni to attend the following events for a week of fun, nostalgia and GK community spirit of “small town school, big time pride!”
Sunday, October 8 | GK Marching Band Competition | The GK Cogs Marching Band will be competing in the Marengo Settlers Day parade and marching band competition. Stop by to cheer on the band at their competition!
Monday, October 9 - Saturday, October 14 | Downtown Window Paintings |We encourage the community to visit the downtown area and check out the amazing window displays our students created, the theme this year is haunted homecoming.
Monday, October 9 | Sophomore Football | The boys Sophomore football team will compete against Stillman Valley High School at Stillman Valley, kickoff is 5:00 PM.
Tuesday, October 10 | Volleyball Games | Freshman and Junior Varsity start at 5:00 PM and Varsity starts at 6:00 PM. All teams will go up against Byron High School at Genoa-Kingston. Tickets are $5.
Wednesday, October 11 | Powderpuff Football | Freshman vs. Sophomores start at 6:00 PM. Juniors vs. Seniors start at 7:00 PM and the championship game will begin at 8:00 PM. Games will take place at the high school stadium. Tickets are $2.
Thursday, October 12 | Volleyball Games | Junior Varsity starts at 5:00 PM and Varsity starts at 6:00 PM. All teams will go up against Rockford Lutheran High School. Tickets are $5.
Friday, October 13 | Boys Soccer Game |IHSA Regional Semifinals, at Hinckley Big Rock at 7:00 PM.
Friday, October 13 | Homecoming Parade | The homecoming parade will have decorated carts by student organizations, marching band, athletic teams, along with local organizations and the community. It is a chance for everyone to show their school and community spirit! Parade starts at 3:30 PM and will go from South Sycamore street and end at the Genoa-Kingston Middle School.
Friday, October 13 | Football Game | Join the Varsity football team as they take on Rock Falls High School at 7:00 PM. Tickets are $5.
Saturday, October 14 | Boys & Girls Cross Country | Starting at 10:00 AM the boys and girls cross country will compete in the big Northern Conference Championships at Oregon Park West.
