🐾 Shoutout to our amazing GKHS Impact Club! 🐾 These students recently dropped off supplies to support The Barn on Baseline — collecting everything from pet food to paper towels and other supplies. Thanks to their hard work (and your donations!), animals in need are getting the love and care they deserve. 💙🐶🐱 Way to go, Cogs, for making a difference in our community!

It’s a pleasure to recognize Steve Brust, also known as Hard Hat Steve as this years recipient of the Nikki Gudall Volunteer of the Year Award! He has made an outstanding impact on our schools, our athletic program and the community. Please join us in thanking and congratulating Steve. We are incredibly lucky to have you at GK — and we appreciate everything you do for our schools and our athletes! About the Award: The Nikki Gudall Volunteer of the Year award goes to a person who consistently steps up, gives their time, and makes a difference — not for recognition, but because that is who they are. This award is in memory of Nikki, who had volunteered throughout the district while her children were in school, helping staff and teachers with many tasks. She spent numerous hours organizing the Book Rooms in each of the district’s buildings.

Happy Summer Everyone!
We’re thrilled to share that our Mr. Drews, GKHS and fifth grade band director, was selected by his alma mater to perform at the world-renowned Carnegie Hall! This incredible honor is a testament to his talent and dedication to music. Congratulations on being chosen to take the stage at one of the most prestigious concert venues in the world! Check out the awesome photos he shared and some of the sight seeing he was able to do while performing! Fun Fact: all of the walls in Carnegie Hall are rounded or bowed to help with acoustics.

🎓 Graduates on Parade 🎓 Today, our seniors took one final walk through the hallways that shaped them — from the classrooms where they learned their ABCs to the ones where they found their voices, passions and purpose. As they walked through their former elementary and middle schools, they were greeted with cheers and high-fives from the students and staff who helped guide them along the way. This tradition is more than a walk — it’s a full-circle moment and a celebration of growth!

Last week, our kindergarten students made Mother's Day cards—and today, some of the classes got to witness a little magic as they released butterflies they’ve been caring for in class. 🦋💐 May has already been full of wonder, growth and heartfelt moments for our kindergarteners!

The PBIS HS team held an all school assembly a few weeks back where they played Family Feud! It was upperclassman vs underclassman and the winning team (upperclassman) played the teachers! Some questions that were asked were: What is the best month of the year, which teacher is the loudest and best lunch item sold at GKHS. It was a fun event that also included a Promposal!!

💡 A huge THANK YOU to the Inventors Lab for visiting Kingston Elementary School and sharing some seriously cool science with our students! Their water-based demonstrations perfectly tied into our One School, One Book selection — Gooseberry Park and the Master Plan — and left students wide-eyed and inspired! Every student even went home with a “Super Slurper” — an absorbent polymer that can soak up water and transform into a gel-like substance, holding up to 2,000 times its weight! Now that’s science in action!
