Our second graders had a blast on their last field trip to Russell Woods! They went on a hike, learned about worms and other animals through different activities!

Congratulations to the following students for receiving Quarter 1 Cogs of the Quarter!

8th grade students in Mrs. Ewald’s social studies classes are studying the Tensions in the West unit, focusing this week on the Transcontinental Railroad! Through a gallery walk, students examined the railroad’s construction, its impact on westward expansion, and the historic Golden Spike ceremony. To bring history to life, one student brought in a replica golden spike, and Mrs. Ewald’s husband loaned the class a conductor’s hat for the activity!

Books down, boots on. AP Environmental Science hit the outdoors to collect soil samples, water samples and observe the biodiversity in Riverbend. This hands-on experience with their experiment was from a few weeks back, science in action! 🌱🔬

Need dinner plans tonight? Come to the Sycamore Culver's tonight (10/15) and help the junior class raise money for prom. All you have to do to help is dine in or visit the drive through between the hours of 5:00-8:00 PM.

Due to a shortage of bus drivers this afternoon, Bus 7's route will be divided between Bus 10 and Bus 18.

- Bus 10 will transport all students who live on Route 72 and in the Rood Subdivision (Kingston).
- Bus 18 will transport all students who live on East & 1st Street and Wolf Road (Kingston).

School officials have been informed and will ensure students board the correct bus. Thank you for your flexibility as we navigate a shortage of bus drivers. Happy little trees and lots of creativity! Our GKHS art students got in touch with their inner Bob Ross this week — painting their very own happy little trees! 🌳✨

These paintings are displayed in the new art gallery area between the weight room and 600 hallway.

Our seventh graders got moving and reading a few weeks ago! 📚👟 Through a walk-a-thon and reading challenge, they raised funds for their field trips — way to go!

Due to a house fire near Genoa-Kingston Middle School, all regular, after school bus routes may be delayed. If you are picking up your student from the Middle School, Main Street may be blocked during dismissal for pick up. Please use B Street or A street. Avoid using Main Street.

In collaboration with Rooted for Good - Genoa, the GKHS and GKMS Impact Clubs will be hosting a Halloween Costume Distribution on Monday, October 6, 2025 from 3:00-5:00 PM at Rooted For Good - Genoa.
