GKHS National Honors Society is hosting a FREE car wash at the high school this weekend!

Congratulations to the GKHS PBIS Cog of the Quarter winners for 3rd quarter: Haiven Valdez, Kole Norris, Dean Pacey, and Nathan Jimenez. Amazing job!

Congratulations to the GKHS Art department!! Last night they took home 12 ribbons from the BNC art festival. 3 - first place 1 - third place 8 - honorable mention

Before break Integrated Algebra classes at the high school did a competition to see who could build the tallest tower out of spaghetti, tape, and string that could hold a marshmallow. Students had to problem solve and think outside of the box to create their towers in groups. The winning group had a tower that was 26 inches tall!

Congratulations to Riley, Alia and Camila who earned GKMS Cogs of the Quarter for third quarter!
Cogs of the Quarter are selected for being an exemplary student and role model for their peers.

Jazz Dance: Join the GK Middle and High School jazz band and vocal soloists for an unforgettable evening of music and fun on Saturday, April 25 from 5:00-8:00 PM. Enjoy live performances, dancing, exciting raffle baskets, and a delicious pasta dinner at GKMS. This event is family friendly and open to the community.

Tickets are $20, please reach out to a jazz band student or the school to purchase tickets.

2026-2027 Student Registration : Online registration is a simple process that will take 10-15 minutes. Your student must be enrolled in order to be given a teacher assignment and/or class schedule for the 2026-2027 school year.

So many firsts… and a couple of lasts 💛

Our Kindergarten Round-Up was filled with excitement as our newest students start many firsts on their journey at GK. Standing beside them, Mrs. Cook and Mrs. Benzinger, who have spent years creating those unforgettable firsts for so many—now experiencing a season of lasts as they approach their final months before retirement.

Thank you, Mrs. Cook and Mrs. Benzinger, for making the beginning so special for generations of students. 🍎✨

All after school activities and practices are canceled for today, Monday, March 16, 2026.

No School - Monday, March 16, 2026. Tomorrow, Monday, March 16, 2026 all schools will be closed due to the winter storm. This will be made up on Thursday, May 28, 2026 (a scheduled emergency day).

Due to the power outage across town the school district will be using a 2-hour delayed start to school.
All bus routes will be delayed by two hours and the following changes will occur:
- The morning Early Childhood and PreK classes at KES would be canceled.
- For those high school students enrolled in second session KEC, parents could choose to transport them, or a bus would be provided at approximately 10:30 AM.
- Breakfast will not be served on delayed mornings.

Student leaders in action! 👏 Members of the Student Advisory Committee from GKHS recently visited GKMS to speak with 8th grade students about the committee. The members shared how students help represent their peers, work directly with school leadership, and make a real impact on school decisions. They also talked about some of the projects they have already completed this year, upcoming plans, and how future students can get involved once they arrive at GKHS.

We’re excited to see the next generation of student leaders and look forward to welcoming many of these 8th graders to Student Advisory in the future! 🎓
